Nice and clean app! When I first started the App and was met by the white screen, I tried to paint right away, but couldn’t. My first thought was that the App didn’t work. Then, I tried right clicking and realised that I had to select a color first. Maybe the black pen could be selected as default? I also think that a shape tool would be a great addition to your app. Maybe with a few of the most common shapes, such as Line, Cirkle, Rectangle, etc. Just enough to still keep the app clean and simple. Also agree with a previous comment that size option for Pen and Eraser would be great. :)

Thanks for the great feedback. I will it add it to my backlog for Release 3. This app will always be free and my goal is to make this app the simplest app with best performance in the entire windows store. Stay tuned for more performance improvements in future.

Cool Idea. Among the Must haves.

Thanks Ankit. All the best!

There should be a Welcome screen . Pen and Eraser size should be variable ,very difficult to rub something .And a paint bucket should be available. There should be an option to upload image if you are keeping the application this simple.
CodeToGlory Dec 6 '12 at 23:18
Release 3 will have variable size pens and eraser. I am trying to balance between simplicity and features. My goal is for users to come in and do their work and out of the app as quickly as possible.

A tablet to get more used on tablet than a desktop/laptop. Though a great idea to put a prototype images and free hand
CodeToGlory Dec 6 '12 at 23:21
Thanks Harshit. I had to take care of mouse and touch as well thanks to Windows 8 bimodal OS.

did you apply duplicity feature in your application, for e.g in mspaint the duplicity feature will lets you do Duplicity If you have a shape drawn in the drawing area and it is in the perfect size and position and you want to draw another copy of that shape, you just have to copy the image and paste it wherever you want it. There is no need to redraw that image." for more reference of mspaint feature view this too tips4pc.com/windows_seven_tips/…

Thanks Vignesh. I will look into this. I have to tell you though, I am learning a lot about paint from you but just remember desktop apps are power apps and don't comply with fierce reduction that modern apps require for windows 8.

This looks great, keep up the good work.
CodeToGlory Oct 24 '12 at 2:19
Thank you, Logan.

The features mention "Export to JPEG or PNG formats", I presume this is like a Save feature. Will your app also support opening existing images for editing?
CodeToGlory Oct 17 '12 at 16:07
I am not supporting opening existing images for now. But definitely going to look at building it for Day 2.
CodeToGlory Oct 24 '12 at 2:18
Added this feature to Release 2. Thanks for your feedback.

Looks like it will be a nice app, when can you get screenshots up? Also, is it possible to export to .svg?
CodeToGlory Oct 17 '12 at 3:22
I will update with some screenshots tomorrow. I will look into exporting to svg. I want to get a release 1 out into marketplace with a basic feature set and keep adding features and providing good updates.
CodeToGlory Oct 24 '12 at 2:19
This is looking like a major task as there is no easy API for me to export to SVG.

can you say whats the diffrence b/w paint and your app since things you have mentioned can be done through paint
CodeToGlory Oct 11 '12 at 14:50
I am building it by taking the most important features of paint and giving them quick shortcuts to use colors and create doodles fast. I will upload the screenshot once I complete it in a day or so. The UX of the App is my main focus.

Does Paint do font smoothing?
vignesh4303 Oct 22 '12 at 8:26
yes we can do font smoothing in paint,by default it was disabled ,for reference on font smoothing have a look at this technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc978612.aspx and some of the features which can be accessed through paint can be as follows ms.fanhow.com/ms-paint-font-smoothing ,The second link may help you while creating features to your application ,so whats the new thing implemented through your application ?
CodeToGlory Oct 10 '12 at 17:07
How important is the eraser tool for this app?
Sandra Walters Oct 16 '12 at 16:43
I think an undo feature would be just as important (if not more so) as an eraser tool; does your app have this?
CodeToGlory Oct 16 '12 at 16:46
I completed the eraser tool. I will look into Undo.
CodeToGlory Oct 17 '12 at 20:14
Sandra, I added a clear all feature for now as undo seems a bit complicated to complete for my timeline.
